Central Heating

Nest Thermostats

  • The central heating is controlled by two Nest Thermostats, one located in the conservatory, which sets the temperature for the conservatory alone, and one in entrance hall, which sets the temperature for the rest of the house.
  • The thermostats are set to adjust the temperature automatically during the day to provide a level of warmth that is appropriate for most people (it is set warmer during the day and cooler at night).
  • To adjust the temperature yourself, turn the control dial (either up or down) to a level that is comfortable for you.
  • Note that your adjusted temperature will periodically reset to the default setting, so you might need to tweak the settings every so oftern to get your preferred temperature.
  • Please note that central heating does not work quicker by turning the dial up higher! If, for example, the current setting is 19C and you would prefer 21C, turning the dial to 30C would not get the temperature up any faster than setting it to 21C, but it would result in the temperature overshooting your desired level.
  • Hot water is also controlled by the Nest but is set to be on all day and so should not require any further adjustment.
