Disposing of Rubbish at Cedar Lodge

To ensure that your waste can be processed effectively, we ask all guests to dispose of items by dividing them into general waste and recyclable waste.

We use a commercial waste collection service, so no need to put the bins out yourselves, but the collection might come during your stay.

Types of Waste

Bins in the Kitchen

In the kitchen there are small bins for each of the 4 categories:

• General waste bin. This is found in the cupboard opposite the sink. This is where you put any non-recyclable waste, including food waste.
• Recyclable waste bins. There are three of these that are found to the left of the range cooker. 

Please ALWAYS put waste in the bin bags provided—more bags can be found in the kitchen island (in the drawer on the side next to the sink). 

When these small bins are full, please transfer the full bin sacks to the outside bin store and replace the bin bag with a fresh one.

Outside Bins 

There are large wheelie bins in the wooden stores near the entrance gate. Please keep the waste separate so that the correct waste goes in the correct bin.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT LOOSE RUBBISH IN ANY OF THE BINS. EVERYTHING, INCLUDING PAPER WASTE, MUST BE IN BAGS SO THAT IT CAN BE TAKEN AWAY

You can use large bin bags if you have lots of rubbish to dispose of. 

Bin Bags

• Bin bags, both large black bags and smaller pedal-bin bags for the kitchen bins, are in a drawer within the kitchen island (on the side next to the sink).
