Remove the cover and store it safely (there are velcro straps on the bottom sides that need to be released)
You will find that the barbecue has black thermal mats over the metal bars
These help to keep the barbecue clean and should be left in place during use
They do not interfere with the normal function of the barbecue, and make it far easier to cook food items that would normally tend to drop between the bars of the grill
The mats can be washed between uses
To start the barbecue
Ensure that the switch on the gas regulator (on top of the gas cylinder, inside the cabinet of the barbecue) is in the “on” position
To light the burners, turn one of the control knobs and hold until the gas ignites
Please note that the control second from the right is for the gas ring. DO NOT SWITCH THIS ON UNTIL YOU HAVE OPENED THE HATCH ON THE RIGHT OF THE BBQ.
When finished with the barbecue, switch the gas regulator valve back to “off”
After using the Barbecue
Using the barbecue mats should ensure that there is minimal cleaning required, but please clean any spillages after use
Please wash and replace the barbecue tools
Wait until the barbecue has fully cooled down before replacing the cover
Health and Safety
Switch the gas regulator valve to “off” after you have finished with the barbecue
The barbecue gets very hot during use and takes time to cool down after you have finished cooking
Always keep children and pets at a safe distance
Do not replace the cover while the barbecue is still hot
Changing the Gas Cylinder
It should not normally be necessary to change the cylinder, but should this be required:
First make sure that the cylinder is really empty, not just switched off at the regulator
A spare cylinder can be found in the garage (Care! Cylinders are heavy!)
The following link shows how to detach the cylinder from the regulator
Please let the owners know, so that they can arrange for the old cylinder to be refilled
Troubleshooting
The barbecue will not light
Ensure that the gas regulator valve (in the barbeque, on top of the cylinder) is switched on.
If the barbecue still will not light, it could mean that the gas cylinder needs replacing. Please see the section on "changing the gas cylinder" for how to do this.
