Swimming Pool Rules and Instructions

Please take care at all times around the swimming pool

The swimming pool is normally available from May until the end of September. At all times of year, even when the pool is not in use, all guests must abide by the safety rules.

Health and Safety Rules

  • Guests are responsible for keeping all gates shut and the swimming pool area secured at all times.
  • Children under 18 must be supervised by their parents/guardians at all times.
  • No pets of any kind are permitted in the pool or pool area at any time.
  • The owners will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained in the pool.
  • Guests must immediately notify the owners of any repair that the pool may require.
  • Guests must use the swimming pool in a safe, responsible manner.

Guests use the swimming pool at their own risk.

General Considerations

  • Artificial tan will wash off and discolour the pool. Please shower this off before entering the pool.
  • Do not bring glass containers to the side of the pool as broken glass is extremely hazardous—please only use plastic cups and plates.
  • The pool is fully cleaned and maintained at least once a week during the holiday season, which is usually done before check-in, but we reserve the right to carry out additional cleaning when required.
  • Guests should use the net at the side of the pool to clear away any leaves and debris prior to use.

Pool Cover

The swimming pool has a thermal cover that helps retain heat. Ensuring that this is replaced after use will make a significant difference to the pool’s temperature and is strongly recommended.

  • Wind the cover around the roller when you wish to use the pool.
    • There are extra blue loose straps at the side of the roller that can be used to keep the rolled up cover in place if it is windy.
  • Replace the cover on the main pool and the spa unit when you are finished.
  • Ensure the straps from the roller to the cover hang loose, with the cover resting on the water, to avoid wind getting under the cover.

CORRECT. The cover is completely resting on the surface of the pool and the straps are loose.

WRONG. The cover is lifted at the edge and will act like a sail when the wind blows. The entire cover and roller can lift up in strong wind!

Swim Jets

The pool has swim jets that provide a current to swim against, meaning that it is possible to swim continuously. There are two swim jets, each of which can have their power controlled individually.

  • To turn the swim jet on, push the button at the end of the pool (it is easiest to use your foot to do this). Push the button again to switch it off.
  • Adjust the flow of water using the dial next to the swim jet buttons.
  • Please remember to switch the swim jets off after use.

Spa Bubbles

The integrated Spa tub has two types of air bubbles that can be introduced.

  • Tiny air bubbles can be introduced using the Venturi control, found on the side of the spa. Turn the dial from min to max to control the aeration. Note that these bubbles are introduced into the circulation water, which must be running.
  • Large air bubbles are introduced by switching on the blower pump, which is done by pushing the right-side button on the spa edge (it is easiest to use your foot to do this). Push the button again to switch off.
  • Please remember to switch the bubbles off when you have finished with the pool.
